We have recently taken delivery of the new DREAM Station at our Ikejiri office. The Station is a hybrid system that cleverly combines a compact DAW with mixing and automation functions, and thus presents itself as audio network Station capable of handles audio effects jobs to major Multi Audio projects. The system features 12 feeder units, which enable expansion, and a 7.1 surround sound editing. NHK Osaka has recently acquired 4 Fairlight Satellite systems. It has employed a 24-track Satellite as its Main DAW and a 16-track Satellite as its effects machine in its DS-1 Drama studio as well as another 16-track Satellite and a MFXauto as an EDL recording system its preparation room. At the same time it purchased another 16-track Satellite for its special effects preparations room. Osaka's IMAGICA West, which has just renewed its MA-2 studio, has recently acquired Fairlight's new "DREAM Satellite" 48-track system. IMAGICA Akasaka in Tokyo's Akasaka, has recently upgraded its existing Fairlight system.It has improved the capacity of its MA(Multi Audio Room) No.2 mfx3plus system by increasing the number of channels from 8 to 24, made the systems 24IN/OUT, and included 24 channels as simultaneous recording channels. Also, at the same time it increased the HDD memory capacity of its existing Medialink Server as well as the file sharing capacity of the Fairlight equipment in MA No.1 and No.2. Fairlight Japan has recently completed the guidelines for its yearly maintenance agreement and would thus like to outline the details to all Fairlight product users in Japan. Products and equipment are bound to malfunction at some time or another, however this inevitability is unfortunately unpredictable which makes for great difficulties in terms of budgeting for maintenance costs. Maintenance expenses can reach up to 1,000,000 yen just to replace a foundation board. The yearly maintenance agreement is designed to provide year round assurance by reducing the burden and cost when expensive maintenance is suddenly required. Fairlight Japan has introduced special discounts on yearly maintenance agreements for Japanese users with the completion of these maintenance guidelines. ■2002/6/10 サウンドエッグノッグが南青山に移転　2台目のMFXを導入！ 音響効果の�Pサウンドエッグノッグはこの度南青山に移転し、同時に2台目のMFX3plusを導入致しました。 サウンドエッグノッグは昨年6月に1台目のMFXを導入。今回の2台目の選択にあたって取締役の白根沢氏は「機械に弱い自分達でも覚えられて、簡単に操作できるのがポイントでした。」とコメントしています。1台目を入れて以来、その使いやすさにスタッフの間でMFXの取り合いになっていたとのこと。今後はMAスタジオにMOでデータを持ち込めるように、自分達が使っているスタジオが全てフェアライトになることが希望だといいます。 サウンドエッグノッグは白根沢氏以外のスタッフが全員女性なのが特長で、最近の主な仕事には『たけしのTVタックル』『最強魂』『人妻温泉』『グレートマザー物語』などがあります。 写真はSystem-A(左上）柳澤三重子さん、System-B(右下）保苅智子さんです。 Sound Egg Nog moves to Minami-Aoyama and acquires its 2nd MFX! Sound Egg Nog Inc., a company specializing in sound effects, has recently moved to Minami-Aoyama, and at the same time has installed its 2nd MFX, the MFX3plus. Sound Egg Nog acquired its first MFX last June. Commenting on the release of the latest MFX, Sound Egg Nog director, Mr. Shiranezawa, said that the greatest advantage of the new MFX is its easy operation, which enables people less familiar with the audio equipment to quickly remember the functions. Since the 1st unit was installed there has been a scramble to work on the MFX between staff because of its ease of use. Sound Egg Nog staff expressed their desire to see Fairlight equipment employed in all the studios that they currently use so that they will be able to take data into MA studios by MO from now on. Sound Egg Nog is a unique company, in that apart from Mr. Shiranezawa, all members of staff are women.
